HELLO FALL! It's happening. After years & years of awesome interest rates, we are now seeing them go up. Is it the end of the world? NO! First time home buyers may be in a bit of a pickle since the house price they were aiming for may now need to be lower and the need for flexiblilty. Those upgrading who have a good bit of equity in their current house should be fine. We are still in that market where there are more buyers than inventory, but as some buyers have dropped out for now due to overwhelming competition, Sellers really need to be on their toes to offer the best value & condition they can. That may include a reduced price and/or some closing costs offered to the Buyer. So if you were on the fence before, it's time to jump off, especially if you are renting. Why pay someone else's mortgage when you can pay your own and build equity over time. That's your call.
